About Shift Blooms

Creating and Decompressing

Bedside nurse–created space with resources to help you protect your energy and enjoy life beyond work. I love creativity, health, and self-improvement. This is that space.

A spotless white kitchen counter with a large, clear glass meal-prep container neatly divided into colorful sections of roasted vegetables, grilled salmon, and quinoa, beside a sleek smartwatch and a laminated weekly wellness schedule. A stethoscope is coiled neatly in the corner, subtly indicating a healthcare setting. Soft overcast daylight streams in from an unseen window, creating natural highlights on the glass and stainless steel fixtures, with very gentle shadows. The mood is organized, proactive, and empowering. Photographic realism with a bright, minimalist style, captured from a slightly elevated angle using the rule of thirds, creating a sense of balance and control around nutrition and time management for nurse wellness.
A neatly made hospital on-call room bed with crisp white sheets and a folded teal blanket at the foot, beside a small nightstand holding a closed leather journal, a stainless steel water bottle, and a digital alarm clock glowing softly. A pair of clean nursing clogs is tucked precisely under the bed. Soft, diffused morning sunlight filters through partially closed blinds, casting gentle linear shadows across the bedding. The mood is calm, restorative, and quietly hopeful. Photographic realism with a clean, modern aesthetic, shot at eye level with a shallow depth of field, keeping the bed and bedside objects in sharp focus while the background gently blurs, emphasizing rest and recovery beyond the shift.

Why Shift Blooms Exists

Shift Blooms grew from breaks where I scribbled survival notes between assignments, unloaded after a hard shift, and missed family events because of schedules without any seniority-based time off. Now it’s a gathering place for nurses reclaiming rest, boundaries, and a full, flourishing life.

I’m Laurel

I’m a Mom, Registered Nurse, and lifelong work-in-progress with a love for the beach, healthy living, creativity, and meaningful connection.

This is my space to explore life both in the shift and beyond it—the beautiful, messy, funny, and sometimes completely absurd parts of being a nurse, a mom, and simply being human.

Here, we’ll vent, smile, laugh at the absurd things, share what we’re learning, and celebrate the moments that make life feel a little lighter.

Welcome to my little corner of the world.
